Polar Insulated Water Bottle Review

Over All Rating Reviews :
As a professional triathlete my rides depend on quality water and sports drinks. These bottles are superior to every other bottle I have tried and/or endorsed. The lid screws on and off very easily and feels very secure when its on. I have had no problems with leaking. Bottles are fairly easy to squeeze on the bike, and for those who care about such things they are not made with bisphenol-A plastics which are supposedly very bad for you. They are made with low density polyethylene plastic #4. As far as keeping your water cold. CAUTION IF YOU FREEZE THESE BOTTLES OVER NIGHT THEY WILL NOT DEFROST ON YOUR RIDE!! They will stay frozen solid unless you are in intense heat. I froze a bottle when I first got them and put it in one of my water cages for a 6 hr ride in 90 degree plus heat and it took almost 4 hours to be able to squeeze the bottle. Putting water in the bottle at 35 degrees it will stay below about 67 for almost 4 hours. The 24 oz bottles are kinda big for a traditional water cage and because of how cold they will keep your water 20 oz is plenty. But they are almost the same price for the bigger bottles. Putting refrigerated water in them with a couple hand fulls of ice has worked very very well for me. The importance of cold water can not be overstated to the serious athlete who needs to maintain a certain level of performance. For the more casual weekend warriors you also need cold fluids to stay hydrated and keep your body in its aerobic training zone. The bottles also come with a very sturdy carrying strap that works well with a karabiner for hiking or climbing. These bottles are alittle more expensive than most bottles but like alot of things you get what you pay for. I have recommended these bottles to dozens of my friends and family and know dozens more of other elite level triathletes and cyclists who use these bottles for training.
